Description

Suspension trauma is a real worksite hazard for linemen. If left in a harness after a fall for an extended time, blood will pool in the legs and veins which could lead to unconsciousness and in the worst cases, death. The 9099X/12-H5 relief step safety device from Miller by Honeywell provides life-saving short-term respite until the worker is rescued. This useful accessory only weighs 65grams but supports a massive 400lbs. It attaches to virtually any Miller harness and is engaged by simply pulling the deploy tab and stepping up onto the foot loops to allow blood flow. A top D-ring can be attached to lowering or raising devices and the side wrist loops assist in casualty removal if required.

Definitely relieves me from pressure

I'm often suspended when I weld and this helps relieve a lot of the pressure. Taking short breaks every now and then is very important.

Compact and useful

I like that I can retract the webbing. Helps keep it compact and it's easy to deploy when I need it. It's very small and light so it's good to just keep it handy when you plan on working suspended all day.
