Description

Dangerous situations like rescue operations and work-related descents can be made safe with equipment like the 8113 descent device unit from Miller by Honeywell. The 8113 may be compact but the steel construction is extremely hardy and the ingenious sliding mandrel system locks the 50' descent rope safety line (not included) into place in the event of a fall. Adjusting for the weight of the wearer and the desired descent speed can be controlled by the number of times the lines is wrapped around the aluminum mandrel. Once the worker is in position, the 8113 can be locked to allow both hands to be used for the required tasks.

Really works how it should be

The automatic locking works really well. I've never actually had to use it in a real dangerous situation or anything but I did test the fall arrest and it definitely works.

Very secure

I've never actually had to use this. We did test this out once before actually buying a set for me and my crew. It's a really great product. Operates really smoothly and it doesn't suddenly shift down. It's very secure and it's definitely reliable.
